Product Specifications
Gaskets
Flange gaskets are mechanical seals designed to fill the space between two flanged sections of pipe, ensuring a tight, leak-proof connection. They are installed between the mating surfaces of flanges and compressed by bolting the flanges together. Flange gaskets come in various materials, including non-metallic (e.g., rubber, PTFE), metallic (e.g., soft iron ring-type joints), and semi-metallic (e.g., stainless steel spiral wound gaskets), each suited for different pressure and temperature conditions. These gaskets are essential in industries like oil and gas, chemical processing, and water treatment, where reliable sealing is crucial.
Stud bolts
Stud bolts are essential components used to secure flanges in piping systems, ensuring a tight and leak-proof connection.
Available as Fully Threaded or Double End, stud bolts are typically fully threaded rods, allowing for uniform thread engagement. They are paired with two heavy hexagonal nuts, one on each end, to apply pressure and secure the flanges. Available in various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel, to match different environmental conditions and mechanical requirements.
Bars
A variety of materials and sizes of Round, Angle, Flat and Hexagon steel bars are available to compliment your piping material package.
Round Bars are generally supplied as forged type, particularly for use in manufacture of small cylindrical precision parts.
Flat and Angle bars are essential in construction of pipe supports, pipe bridges, pipe brackets and supports, and various industrial applications due to their strength and versatility.
Sheet and Plate
Steel sheets and plates are available in various grades, each suited for specific applications based on their properties. Some common grades that SPFA can supply as part of your piping project:
ASTM A516 Grade 70: Pressure vessel quality steel, used in boilers and pressure vessels, manufacture of plate flanges and orifice plates.
ASTM A240 Grade 304/304L and 316/316L: Stainless steel plates used in both processing facilities and tanks for food and beverage, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.
ASTM A240 Grade S31803 and S32205: Duplex stainless steel plates are ideal for handling the demanding corrosive and high-temperature applications throughout the oil and gas, water treatment and marine industries.
Nickel Alloy Steel Plates are available in a wide range of grades for specific applications such as high fatigue strength, exceptional corrosion resistance and ability to withstand very high temperature application. Valves
Several types of valves are commonly available to control the flow of fluids and ensure safe and efficient operations. SPFA can supply the most common types:
Gate Valves: Used for on/off control of fluid flow, offering minimal restriction when fully open.
Globe Valves: Ideal for regulating flow or pressure due to their precise throttling capabilities.
Ball Valves: Known for their quick shut-off capabilities, providing a tight seal with a quarter-turn motion.
Butterfly Valves: Feature a rotating disc to open or close the flow path, suitable for large-diameter pipes.
Check Valves: Allow fluid to flow in one direction only, preventing backflow that could damage equipment.
Safety Valves: Automatically release pressure when it exceeds set limits to protect equipment and ensure safe operations.
Tubes
Typically made of carbon, stainless or alloy steel, these tubes are specifically used in industrial boilers to facilitate heat exchange between combustion gases and the water or steam circulating within the boiler. These tubes are essential in power plants, industrial processing plants, and steam boilers for efficient heat transfer and energy production. SPFA can supply tubes from a range of common standards including;
A179 Carbon Seamless Heat Exchanger and Condenser Tubes
A192 Carbon Seamless Boiler Tubes
A213 Stainless Seamless Boiler, Superheater and Heat Exchanger Tubes
A249 Stainless Welded Boiler, Superheater, Heat Exchanger and Condenser Tubes
A269 Stainless Seamless and Welded tubes for general service
A270 Stainless Seamless and Welded tubes for Hygienic and sanitary services.
A789 Duplex Seamless and Welded tubes for general service
U-Tubes
U-tubes are a type of heat exchanger tube bent into a U-shape, allowing for efficient heat transfer in a compact space. They are commonly used in applications where space is limited and where the tube bundle needs to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction without causing stress on the tubes. U-tubes are often found in boilers, condensers, and other heat exchangers in industries such as power generation, chemical processing, and HVAC systems. Their design helps maximize heat transfer efficiency while minimizing the overall footprint of the equipment.
Finned Tubes and Pipes
Finned tubes pipes are a type of heat exchanger designed to enhance heat transfer efficiency. They feature steel fins on their outer surface, which increase the surface area and allow for better heat exchange between the fluid inside the pipe and the surrounding environment. These pipes are commonly used in applications requiring high heat transfer rates, such as in power plants, refrigeration systems, air conditioning, and industrial boilers. The fins can be made from various materials, including aluminium, copper, and stainless steel, depending on the specific requirements of the application.
